Our 2013 Stonington Land Trust Annual Meeting
At Stonington Vineyards, with a focus on the Davis Farm.
Members and friends of the SLT enjoyed a winter walk on Sunday January 6, with renowned naturalist and ornithologist, Bob Dewire. We spotted some Eastern Bluebirds and a Turkey Vulture flying overhead and learned about the nesting habits of various birds. We had a great turnout and fun was had by all as we experienced the Thomas Miner Nature and Wildlife Preserve on a sunny winter afternoon.
On October 14th Bob Dewire, a renowned naturalist, ornithologist and owner of NatureScapes, led us on a walk through fields and forests of the Thomas Miner Nature and Wildlife Preserve. We were thrilled to have so many of our members and friends present that day to celebrate the acquisition of our new property!

Our May 6th Walk through the Fusina Conservation Easement with Maggie Jones
2010 Spring Walk Fusina
Maggie Jones of Denison Pequotsepos Nature Center accompanied us on a Nature Walk through the Fusina Conservation Easement on a drizzly spring afternoon.
Grandview Farm Deed Ceremony
The Grandview Farm property was transferred to the SLT in a Passing of the Deed Ceremony at the preserve on the morning of October 8, 2010. Attending the ceremony was Stonington’s First Selectman, Ed Haberek, along with the developers and several members of the SLT board. *Click on any photo to start slideshow viewing.
2010 Stonington Garden Club Tree Planting
The Stonington Garden Club and members of the SLT planted 22 trees on the Fusina’s property on October 10, 2010. This was a commemorative tree planting project to celebrate the centennial of the Garden Club of America. The GCA turns 100 in June of 2013.
